Didn't get a chance to watch all of the 1st Round of NBA Playoffs? Here's our take on the Top 5 Ballers of Round 1!
5. Jamal Murray
Over the 5 game series vs LeBrons Lakers, Murray averaged 23.6 points & 7.6 assists per game, as well as scoring a late Dagger in games 2 & 5 to secure Nuggets victories. With finals MVP & Walking Triple Double Nikola Jokic by his side, the Nuggets took Lakers down 4-1 to push on to the second round to play a hungry Minnesota Timberwolves Team.
4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Get ya brooms out - it's a Sweep! MVP Candidate SGA was a massive part of OKC's clean sweep of New Orleans - averaging 27.3 points per game with a +/- of 13, SGA showed he can be a leader for this young and exciting Thunder roster. Paired with great averages from Chet & J-Dub, OKC look poised for a tough round 2 vs the Mavericks.
3. Luka Doncic
No surprises seeing Luka on a list like this. Averaging 30/10/9 over the full 6 game series is nothing short of Luka Magic. The full power of the Luka/Kyrie combo came to fruition in the playoffs - with the 2 collectively averaging over 55pts per game. Luka once again has showed why he is the future of the league & was a big reason in Mavericks taking down the Clippers 4-2, and moving on to play the young OKC Roster in Round 2.
2. Jalen Brunson
The King of New York showed why Knicks fans are more hyped than ever. Averaging an insane 35.5 points per game - Brunson became only the 4th player to score 40+ points in 4 straight Playoff Games - 1st since MJ in 1993. Brunson put the whole city on his back to shut down Philly in a tight 4-2 series win, a long side fantastic performances from fellow Villanova Wildcats Josh Hart & Donte Divincenzo. Knicks now face a tough Pacers team in R2.
1. Anthony Edwards
Ant Man is nothing short of amazing. The 22 year old phenom averaged 31/8/6 in their clean sweep of the 'Super Team' Phoenix Suns. Ant has proved why he is the future face of the NBA, playing thrilling basketball from 3pt shooting & fadeaway jumpers to insane handles & electrifying dunks. Durant didn't stand a chance guarding Edwards this series, a very visual representation of a 'changing of the guard' in the league. Wolves now move on to play reigning champions Denver Nuggets in what should be a thrilling series.
